From
9th July until 18th August: Cycling sessions for young riders.
Stourbridge Cycling Club ran a number of sessions for local
children which turned out to be very successful.
Each session lasted one hour where riders were able to develop
their skills and techniques. Every week the riding became
progressively more challenging and moved onto small competitions
and short off-road rides.
The sessions were run by fully qualified Level 2 coaches who
have experience in many cycling disciplines and were able
to give much advice on all things bikes.
Riders showing a keen interest/ability have been invited along
to club rides where they can further develop their fitness.
Stourbridge Cycling Club is a well established club which
provides club activities for a wide range of cycling disciplines
and is keen to encourage more young people into cycling.
Nationally, cycling is seeing a large increase in numbers,
encouraged by the huge success of multiple gold medals at
the recent World Track Championships held in Manchester and
the 2008 Olympics.
