Ride of Spring

Postby jackson » Sun Mar 14, 2010 5:17 pm

March 28th is the date when the clocks go forward and it starts to get bright enough for off-road evening rides without benefit of lights so in a repeat of last years triumph Matt and I have decided that it's time for the second annual SCC celebratory bike ride and curry feast on Wednesday 31st of March.

The outline of the event is as follows:

Start at 6:30 from my house (Goss House, Clark Street, Stourbridge, DY8 3UF) then heading on at 6:40 to the bonded warehouse then a loop of the local bridleways and byways returning in the dusk our starting point. Park the bikes in my garage (and change if you don’t want to go eat curry in your cycling gear). Walk down to Wollaston for beer and curry at the Karma restaurant, walk back and then cycle slowly home in the dark replete with food and drink.

I've enough room to park for 3 or 4 cars on the drive - after that you'll need to park in the road if you don't cycle down!

If anyone wants to join us on this celebration of the spring returning then let us know by the 22nd so that we can book a big enough table for all.

PS: If you want to skip the riding and just come and eat then that's fine too

Well the weather doesn't look as if it will be cooperating with us this year and the actual ride part might be a bit wet but I'm sure that will only make the post ride beer and curry more welcome. We are up to about 8 people so far and as I need to book the restaurant soon let me know if you are coming tonight at the AGM.

I suspect that the weather will lead to the ride element tonight being very short :D. If we finish early then we will head for the pub, The Princess, that is just across the road, the restaurant is expecting us at 8:30.
